September 8, 2017 2:42pm / Reply I reviewed different Everlane jeans with different materials: the Japanese denim and the Authentic Stretch and they both had some bagginess in the knees (though I also think it might be impossible to make stretch jeans without a little bit of that happening). Where the cheeky feels soft, this felt really stiff to me, though to be fair it could be due to my needing a bigger size. The material on these feels slightly rigid, but it’s also light weight. The Modern Flare Jean features a waist-nipping 11″ rise, a perfectly flared shape through the leg, and an extra-long 31″ inseam that pairs well with everything from boots to sneakers. We made it modern with a slightly straighter leg, timeless washes, and just the right amount of stretch. I would say go up one or two sizes. I haven’t experienced the knee bagginess, but I’m average height so perhaps it is just where your knees are hitting the denim. The jeans have a subtle stretch to them which makes it super comfy to lounge around in, compared to a more rigid denim (which I often prefer for the aesthetic). Fit: OK. I’m a fan of these in that they are the most similar to vintage denim of any of Everlane’s styles. I took my usual size, but they were loose out of the box, and ended up getting too roomy by the end of the day. What would differ? I find these to be super flattering in the rear and hips and it’s definitely because of the small details they mention in the description such as the raised back hook and the placement of the pockets. As with most other Everlane skinny jeans I sized up for extra comfort, and even with the stretchiness the 27 is a perfect fit. Hope you are keeping well. I agree that there is a trade off to stretch! Fit: These fit true to size, unless you want to go for a true slouchy fit in which case I’d suggest sizing up.
